Situated in Kaleiçi, the hotel features two mansions of Ottoman era first built in 19.th century, then restored and converted into a hotel. It is rather an art hotel or a living museum. The art gallery which happily serves as dining room and a concert hall has a floor that is made of glass in some parts! It has to be so beacuse otherwise the ruins from Hellenistic period would have been invisible. The walls exhibit Turkish contemporary paintings and other pieces of art including a very skilfully crafted replica of Rodin’s “The Thinker” from The Met. The art/dining/concert gallery creates the correct atmosphere to start a journey to get acquainted with the past civilizations. Needless to mention the rooms are of the same style and every detail has been carefully attended to for comfort and authenticity.
